Speaker: Aku Ammah-Tagoe is a PhD candidate in the Department of English, at Stanford University, where she studies twentieth- and twenty-first century American literature and culture. Her dissertation connects developments in urban planning, particularly the rise of land-use zoning, to the structural logics and organizational strategies of American fiction from the 1940s to the present. Further research interests include world Anglophone literature, post-45 literature, the contemporary, literature and democracy, narrative theory, literary nonfiction, and popular culture.
