Christine Cassel on the Future of Medical Education

Hosts: The Clinical Excellence Research Center and Dean Charles Prober invite you to hear Dr. Christine Cassel speak on the educational vision that she will shape for Kaiser Permanente’s new medical school.

Speaker: Christine Cassel, President and CEO of the National Quality Forum, is a leading expert in geriatric medicine, medical ethics, and quality of care. She has served as President and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine, President of the American College of Physicians, and Dean of the School of Medicine at Oregon Health and Sciences University. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Dr. Cassel will describe the significant changes to healthcare delivery -- from new national policies, partnerships between medical care and community organizations, new data and technology, and the changing role of the patient -- and how medical education must evolve to equip physicians to successfully practice in the 21st century.
