Trials Produce Highly Effective Ebola Vaccine

Almost a year after the official end of the 2014-15 Ebola outbreak in West Africa, results from one of the only Ebola vaccine trials look very promising: that it is very safe and highly effective during an outbreak setting.

Writing in the journal The Lancet, an international team led by the World Health Organization (WHO) confirms that a set of trials in Guinea has shown the ‘rVSV-ZEBOV’ vaccine to be significantly protective for both individuals and a whole population.
